Lin Goram

Director of NTTC

Lin has been the Director of NTTC for the past two years. With a background in secondary English teaching and designing and delivering training for trainee English teachers on a national ITT programme, Lin leads on all aspects of NTTC’s programme. Lin’s educational interests are in teaching writing, effective teacher education and Victorian literature. Lin is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and has published research on writing, teacher professional learning and subject-knowledge development. Lin runs a local community choir, where her passion for music overlaps with her teaching skills!

Andrina Ridgwell

Secondary Curriculum Leader

Andrina has worked with NTTC since 2018. She began her teaching career in Huddersfield before teaching at a secondary school and sixth form in Essex before moving to Norfolk in 2014. Although her main subject is Business and Economics, Andrina has taught across a range of subjects throughout her career. Andrina has leadership experience, including roles as Head of Department, Head of Faculty and Norfolk Subject Lead. She is passionate about developing great teachers and believes that every child deserves a high-quality educational experience. Outside education, Andrina is an enthusiastic Formula 1 follower and a devoted Harry Potter fan!

Becky Clinton

Primary Curriculum Leader

Becky has extensive experience teaching, leading and supporting across primary settings in Norfolk and Suffolk, working from EYFS to Year 6 and in a range of teaching, subject, phase and leadership roles. Her passion for developing teachers led her to become a Primary Maths Advisor for Norfolk County Council, where she went on to deliver training, mentoring and support to schools across the country. She has worked as a KS1 lead moderator, maths associate and NCETM professional development lead, and for a while was VNET’s Primary Maths Lead. Passionate about building teachers’ confidence and developing their practice, Becky is always looking for creative ways to help children thrive and develop a lifelong love of learning.

As Primary Curriculum Leader at NTTC, she is committed to ensuring trainees receive the highest quality training, subject knowledge and practical strategies to support them at the start of their careers. Outside of work, Becky enjoys reading, watching crime and medical dramas, walking her dogs and trying to convince her children that there is more to life than Xbox!

Helen Steward

Primary Curriculum Tutor

Helen has been with the NTTC on an official capacity since 2025. Before that she enjoyed supporting the programme through her role as Primary Computing lead for the Norfolk Computing Hub. She is one of the tutors for the primary programme and brings expertise from a long classroom career and tutoring on Computing Science and Education graduate courses.  

She has a particular interest in computing, computing pedagogy, research and educational technology. She has presented nationally at conferences such as the British Educational Research Association and Teacher Training Advancement Network and been published in the British Journal for Education Technology with other articles in the pipeline for the near future. She likes to write! 

Helen runs long distances for fun, loves non-fiction and reviews books for the charity Technology Books for Children. 

Mick Snell

ITT Curriculum Leader

Mick is an experienced science teacher with over 30 years in education. After beginning his career in the northeast, he moved to Norfolk where he held a range of leadership roles, including Head of Science, Head of Faculty and member of the Senior Leadership Team.

During 17 years at Attleborough Academy Norfolk, Mick led on Teaching and Learning, CPD and coaching, as well as supporting trainee and early-career teachers. He has also worked on international education projects in Türkiye and Singapore.

At NTTC, Mick supports the delivery of the Secondary Subject Knowledge Development Programme. He is passionate about helping trainees develop strong subject knowledge alongside the wider pedagogical skills and understanding needed to become confident, effective teachers.

Samuel Yates

ITT Secondary Curriculum Tutor

Samuel has extensive teaching and leadership experience across secondary and post-16 education, specialising in sociology, religious studies and psychology. Prior to joining the Initial Teacher Training team, Samuel held roles as a Curriculum Lead and Teaching and Learning Coach, supporting curriculum development, raising student outcomes and enhancing professional practice. His academic interests include the sociology of religion, gender studies and critical theory in education, with a particular focus on masculine identity formation and educational culture. Samuel is passionate about teacher development and supporting the next generation of educators.

Samuel is a keen sportsman; you will either find him on the golf course or tennis court doing neither particularly well but enjoying playing, nonetheless.

Julia Brooks

Development Officer and Primary Curriculum Support Leader

Julia joined the NTTC team in 2023 having enjoyed a very rewarding career in the primary sector. During this time, she held the position of Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo), deputy headteacher and headteacher, as well as leading many of the subjects in the primary curriculum (but usually PE and English)!

She is one of the tutors for the primary programme, leads on the Assessment Only qualification and is also one of the Development Officers for the Primary and Secondary programme. She has particular interests in the qualities of a knowledge-rich curriculum, career progression and leadership, and inclusion and wellbeing.

Julia is a keen golfer and, when time allows, loves to travel and read.
