Fees, Funding & Bursaries
The tuition fee for our one year full-time secondary teacher training programme for 2019/20, leading to Qualified Teacher Status, is £9,000.
There is lots of financial support available to support your training, including tax-free bursaries of up to £28,000.
You can support the cost of your training with a tax-free teacher training bursary. Teacher training bursaries of up to £28,000 are available in a range of subjects.
Our school-direct fee funded courses are eligible for finance under the Student Loans Scheme.
Additional Financial Support
You can get additional financial support if you’re a parent, have an adult dependant or a disability. You can access the following financial support:
- Childcare Grant - Up to £164.70 a week (1 child) or up to £282.36 a week (2 or more children)
- Parents’ Learning Allowance - up to £1,669 per year
- Child Tax Credits
- Disabled Students’ Allowance
- Adult Dependants’ Grant - up yo £2,925 per year
Financial support is not available to trainees to cover the costs of travelling to and from their placement schools.
Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeships Programme
As a Postgraduate teacher apprentice, working in a maintained school, you will be paid in accordance with at least point 1 on the unqualified teachers’ pay scale for the time you are completing your training.
