Become An Outstanding Secondary Teacher
Start your career in teaching and become a Qualified Secondary Teacher with our teacher training programme.
We train outstanding teachers
If you're interested in becoming a teacher, we can help you.
There is always a demand for good teachers and you will be entitled to a generous training bursary or scholarship to support your training.
On our teacher training programmes, you will learn from experience, spending most of your time teaching in a school, and gain Qualified Teacher Status once you have completed the one year programme.
Our programme boasts a 100% employment rate for graduates and you could train to teach with a generous bursary of up to £26,000.
Once qualified you will benefit from a competitive starting salary of at least £24,373 (£30,480 in inner London). There will also be lots of opportunities for rapid career progression and pay increases.
“My time at Norfolk Teacher Training Centre has been brilliant! Having 4 days in school and 1 day theory really made a big difference to my teaching practice and gave a real insight into the amount of work that will be required in the job.”
Paul Taylor - Teacher of Food Preparation Nutrition, Dereham Neatherd High School
“I chose NTTC because it was recommended it to me. I chose the school-based training route because it was more hands on. I think that if you want to be in the job the best thing to do is to be doing it – for me, it was the best way to learn.”
Sarah Baker - Mathematics Teacher Broadland High School
100% Employment Rate
With our teacher training programme, you increase your chances of gaining a job in teaching.
Over the last three years, we have trained 80 new teachers and 100% of our graduates have secured their first teaching job immediately at the end of the course (2018/19).
Our graduates have Qualified Teacher Status which means they can get a teaching job anywhere in England and Wales.
Learn from Experience
Where better to train to teach than in a school?
We work with 38 partner schools and colleges across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, and on our programme, you will spend most of time teaching in a school rather than studying in a classroom.
This allows you to learn from experience and get advice from experienced teachers and your assigned mentor. What’s more, recent research shows that this school-led approach is more successful than studying at university or a higher education provider.

We have an outstanding reputation for providing a high-quality, successful teacher training.

The number of trainees on our programme has grown year-on-year and we have excellent reputation with schools in the region for providing high calibre graduates.
