Subject knowledge go-to specialists
Your subject knowledge development must take centre stage throughout your training.
This is why at the NTTC, in addition to your course leaders and school-based mentors, you will also have access to our pool of ‘Go-To’ subject specialists.
These are practicing experts from within our partnership who currently teach your subject in an 11-19 setting and therefore perfectly qualified to support you.

I have a passion for mentoring new teachers in PE and sharing the enjoyment I have for the subject with them. Being a 'Go To Specialist' for PE has been brilliant and being able to support new teachers in their journey within the profession is very satisfying. With the latest changes to the GCSE PE courses schools are all currently facing, I have allowed trainee's time to work with the new specifications. With this we have focused on practical sports and how to assess accurately and also delivered, together, an introduction to 9-mark answers within the theoretical content.
